A. G. Cook wins BRITs Producer of the Year award

With days to go until the UK’s biggest night in music, The BRIT Awards have revealed the recipient of this year’s Producer of the Year award as A. G. Cook.

Annually decided on by a select panel of expert judges, Producer of the Year has previously been presented to a number of leading British producers, including Chase & Status, David Guetta and Calvin Harris.

A ground-breaking artist, producer and label head, Cook has reshaped the landscape of pop music over the past decade with his experimentation and innovative production. After founding the label PC Music in 2013, he gained recognition for his work with its vast network of eclectic, forward-thinking artists, including the iconic SOPHIE.

His critically acclaimed third solo album Britpop, released last year, further underlined his skill at blurring the lines between mainstream and experimental music and found Cook subverting traditional notions of British identity and pop culture.

Meanwhile, his work as executive producer for Charli xcx, a long-time collaborative relationship that surpasses seven years, was recently demonstrated on her GRAMMY-winning, zeitgeist capturing, Mercury Prize and BRIT-nominated album BRAT.

Cook has also previously been named as a British GQ Man Of The Year and awarded the Variety Hitmakers Innovator of The Year Award, and has received multiple Grammy nominations for his work with Charli xcx and Beyoncé. His production credits also include Caroline Polachek, Troye Sivan, Christine & The Queens and Oklou.

This year’s BRIT Awards promises another evening of live music and entertainment with Jack Whitehall at the helm for the fifth time to take viewers at home and those in the arena audience through a schedule of live performances from JADE, Myles Smith, and Sabrina Carpenter - who will be honoured with BRITs Global Success - Teddy Swims and The Last Dinner Party, along with awards presentations.

Winners of award categories including Mastercard Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year with Mastercard and International Artist of the Year - as well as the five public-voted genre awards Alternative/Rock, Dance, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap, Pop and R&B will be revealed, with each winner collecting a trophy designed by acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist, Gabriel Moses.

The BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard will take place on Saturday 1st March broadcast live from 8.15pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player - from The O2 arena. Harriet Rose and Munya Chawawa will be presenting The BRITs’ Warm-Up for ITV2 on Thursday from 9pm.

Mastercard will be celebrating its headline sponsorship which is now in its 27th year; ITV remain as the official broadcaster for the 32nd year, and The O2 arena will host The BRITs for its 14th year.
