BAFTA has announced its Games in Concert UK Tour, bringing an orchestral interpretation of video game music to audiences across the UK.
This announcement builds on the success of the London premiere at the Royal Festival Hall.
The tour will feature BAFTA Games Awards-winning and nominated music, showcasing soundtracks from some of the most critically acclaimed video games of the past 20 years, including Assassin’s Creed, Helldivers and Fallout.
The touring production will present the same core programme while featuring regionally-based orchestras. Additionally, each performance will combine full orchestral and choral arrangements with synchronised visuals and gameplay, including in-game soloists, creating a fully immersive live experience.
“BAFTA Games in Concert is a celebration of the extraordinary creativity behind video games music and the powerful role it plays in shaping our emotional connection to games,” said Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA. “Following the incredible response to the London premiere, we’re delighted to take this experience on the road for the first time, bringing together world-class orchestras and audiences across the UK to honour more than 20 years of BAFTA-recognised games music.”
