Classical metal singer Chiara Malvestiti to play special Yamaha Music London show

Symphonic metal opera singer Chiara Malvestiti is set to perform a special one-off set at Yamaha Music London on April 29.

Malvestiti, who has received global acclaim as both a solo artist and with her band Therion, will perform an intimate set in the Piano Hall of Yamaha Music London – Yamaha’s flagship London music store. She will be joined onstage by fellow Italian operatic vocalist Sirio, (Villa Vitali, Femme Metal) who recently released his latest single Let The Water Scream.

Supporting Malvestiti on the night is Yamaha Music London’s Jack Elkin, an up-and-coming pianist who will be performing intricate classical pieces. Two-piece electro rock outfit the Glare (BBC Radio 2, Glastonbury Music Festival) will also support.

Doors open at 6.45pm. Entry is free and drinks and refreshments will be provided.

Last year, Yamaha Music London, in partnership with Headliner, offered an exciting opportunity to emerging solo artists in the UK whereby the winner would become the 2023 ambassador for Yamaha Music London’s unique flagship UK store.

The finalists were invited to Yamaha Music London in Soho on December 8 where they were invited to perform two original songs. Following this, the judging panel (which comprised Clean Bandit’s Grace Chatto and Yasmin Green, Ash Dutton, A&R at EMI Records, Stephen Davies, retail operations manager at Yamaha Music London, Kavitha Rao, music and marketing manager at Boisdale and Grace Mcguigan, client relations manager at Headliner) deliberated before each artist was welcomed back to perform a third and final song.

After impressing the judging panel due to the high standard of finalists, it was decided that indie/pop artist Bertie Green and pop artist Beth Keeping would be awarded joint winners of the ambassadorship prize.
