HIVE releases v1.3 software update

HIVE v1.3 is a major software update that expands the creative and technical capacities of its media server platforms.

The update introduces multiple developments designed to increase flexibility, improve interoperability within third-party systems and better support deployment in complex environments.

Central to v1.3 is an upgrade to layers and mixes, which enables more sophisticated real-time compositions. Users can now simultaneously combine multiple layers and mixes, with support for up to eight layers and concurrent mixes. This enables content, live inputs and overlays to be managed across multiple screens and scenarios.

In addition, the introduction of MPCDI integration enables compatibility with industry-standard projection mapping and auto-calibration tools. By supporting this standard, HIVE can now integrate into existing workflows more easily.

The update also includes improvements in security and deployment, including the move to SSH key-based authentication, making HIVE devices more secure.

As well as this, updates include pixel-mapping improvements, improved synchroniser and timing accuracy, expanded NDI workflows and support for high-bandwidth 10GB ST 2110 environments. This is alongside continued improvements to playback stability and overall system performance.

“Version 1.3 significantly expands what users can do with the platform,” said Dave Green, CTO at HIVE. “It’s a continuation of our ecosystem evolution – bringing more flexibility, broader compatibility and ultimately more value to customers across a wider range of applications.”
