NAMM 2025: What's new?

The NAMM Show 2025 kicks off in Anaheim this week and there’s set to be a range of exciting new products on demo from the leading audio and music equipment brands.

Here's Headliner’s round-up of the latest news so far from NAMM:

Celestion debuts Peacekeeper attenuating speaker at NAMM 2025

Celestion introduces the Peacekeeper, its new 12-inch, low-sensitivity, dual voice coil attenuating speaker designed to allow guitarists to achieve their amplifier's "sweet spot" at lower volumes. This innovative design reportedly integrates seamlessly with most amplifiers, preserving the renowned Celestion tone while managing output levels effectively.

Genelec announces immersive system demo plans and presenters for NAMM 2025

Genelec is offering immersive audio experiences and hosting a series of presentations at their booth. Attendees of the show can engage with Genelec’s UNIO Personal Reference Monitoring Solution and experience a state-of-the-art immersive Smart Active Monitoring system, consisting of Genelec 8361A with W371A woofer systems for L-C-R, four 8351Bs for surrounds and four 8341As for overheads, plus a 7380A subwoofer, all calibrated specifically for the room using GLM software. Presentations cover topics like immersive mixing and live recording techniques with special guests including Bob Clearmountain and Sylvia Massy.

Shure announces several innovations at NAMM 2025

Shure has expanded its Nexadyne product line-up, with the introduction of three all-new dynamic instrument microphones: the Nexadyne 2 Kick Drum Microphone, Nexadyne 5 Guitar Amp Microphone, and Nexadyne 6 Tom/Snare Microphone. Prices start at at £215 / €255 / $219.

Additionally, Shure launched the SLX-D Quad-Channel Digital Receiver, available in standard (SLXD4Q+) and Dante-enabled (SLXD4QDAN+) versions. These receivers offer an expanded 138 MHz tuning range for versatile frequency management.

Shure will also be showcasing its new SM39 Vocal Performance Headset Microphone, designed for performers seeking freedom of movement without compromising sound quality. Its lightweight, low-profile design ensures comfort during extended wear and integrates seamlessly with Shure Axient Digital and other Shure Wireless Systems.

Completing the lineup, Shure will present the Wired KSM11 Cardioid Condenser Vocal Microphone, catering to artists and engineers requiring an XLR solution for live performance, broadcast, and live-streamed applications.

In addition to these new products, Shure will also be providing NAMM attendees with a closer look at its new Axient Digital PSM Advanced Digital In-Ear Monitor System and MV7i Smart Microphone and Interface.

AUDIX introduces D6X microphone

AUDIX has unveiled the D6X, an evolution of its D6 microphone, featuring a recessed switch that offers three frequency response profiles: Deep, Balanced, and Natural. This dynamic microphone is designed for low-frequency instruments, reportedly providing versatility and high sound pressure level handling.

Neve 88C brings signature 88R console sound to all studios

Neve expands its desktop product line with the 88C, a dual desktop dynamics processor derived from the flagship 88R console. The 88C reportedly offers studios of all sizes access to Neve's signature sound, featuring adaptive attack, release, and ratio settings for versatile dynamic control.

Solid State Logic launches SSL 18 rackmount USB audio interface

Solid State Logic has launched the SSL 18 rackmount USB audio interface at the 2025 NAMM Show, marking the start of a new era in rackmount production technology from the company.

Developed from SSL's expertise in analogue and digital design, the SSL 18 has been designed to offer exceptional audio performance with a studio-ready feature set.

Adam Hall Group brings LD Systems MAILA to the NAMM Show

The Adam Hall Group brings the LD Systems MAILA (Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array) system to NAMM, a scalable sound system designed for user-friendliness and flexibility in the professional rental market. MAILA features wireless SmartLink+ connection, the MAILA Set-Up APP, and the EasySplay mechanism for adjustable tilt angles.

Rhodes Music to showcase MIDI MK8 piano and new 61-key stage piano at NAMM 2025

Rhodes Music is set to showcase its flagship MK8 pianos with newly integrated MIDI capabilities, featuring proprietary sensing technology for high-resolution monitoring and Polyphonic Aftertouch. Additionally, the brand will unveil a new 61-key stage piano, reportedly bringing its iconic sound to a compact, portable design tailored for performers.

Lawo to showcase next-generation audio innovations at NAMM 2025

Lawo has unveiled its latest advancements in audio production, featuring the mc²56 MkIII and mc²36 MkII audio production consoles loaded with new software. Enhancements include a redesigned Strip Assign page, improved integration with Waves SuperRack 14 systems, and native control of the HOME mc² DSP App, providing up to 2048 input processing channels.

Audient launches flagship 8-Channel iD Interface iD48

Audient introduces the iD48, an eight-channel 24-in/32-out USB-C audio interface designed for producers and engineers. The iD48 features Audient console mic preamps, 32-bit ESS converter technology, and switchable analogue insert technology for reportedly seamless integration of outboard gear.

MQA Labs to reveal new studio tools at NAMM 2025

MQA Labs has announced that it will reveal a new suite of studio tools at the show, which will reportedly enable engineers to employ previously unavailable methods for improved impulse response and noise shaping.

Harrison Audio launches 32Classic Mix Strip in 19” Format

Harrison Audio has announced its 32Classic Mix Strip (MS), a 19", 1U channel strip based on its flagship 32Classic recording console. The 32Classic MS reportedly features a premium Jensen transformer-coupled microphone preamp, Harrison LP/HP filters with a 3 dB resonant peak, and a four-band parametric EQ, bringing the classic Harrison sound to a rack format.

QSC introduces the “K Column” Loudspeaker System

QSC has expanded its K Series with the introduction of the KC12 active three-way column loudspeaker. The KC12 is said to combine the sleek aesthetic of a column speaker with the acoustic performance of conventional designs, featuring a 3,000-watt system that delivers full-range horizontal coverage of 145 degrees and 35 degrees of audience-directed vertical coverage. It's designed for a variety of applications, from solo entertainers to corporate AV setups.

DPA Microphones launches CORE+ technology and MicroLock

DPA Microphones has announced its new CORE+ technology, which reportedly sets a new standard for distortion-free microphone sound. DPA’s CORE+ eliminates the non-linearities typically generated by the membrane and electronic components of a microphone to redefine what’s possible in sound capture. The company will officially unveil the technology at The 2025 NAMM Show, and will also showcase it in Europe for the first time during ISE 2025 (Stand 7P600). Full story here.

Also new is MicroLock, a compact new microphone connector that builds on the strengths of its MicroDot connector. DPA will introduce the MicroLock connector first with its omnidirectional miniature microphones and passive adapters, followed by the cardioid variants.

Waves Audio eMotion LV1 Classic

Waves Audio has unveiled its new fully integrated live mixing console, the eMotion LV1 Classic, which will be on show at NAMM 2025.

With 64 stereo channels and 44 stereo buses of sound, intuitive workflow, 16 onboard Waves Signature Preamps, and Waves processors included with the console, the new Waves eMotion LV1 Classic is a hardware mixing desk designed to pack more live mixing power in a compact console than ever before, says the manufacturer.

The eMotion LV1 Classic builds upon the Waves LV1 mix engine, which until now has been available only as a software-based modular system. This new hardware console delivers the LV1’s advantages and intuitive UI – now in the preferred console form factor and workflow of live sound engineers worldwide.

Plugin Alliance launches official SPL Machine Head digital tape saturation plugin

Plugin Alliance has announced an official SPL Machine Head software emulation at NAMM 2025.

Favoured by engineers for adding perceived loudness and thickness to mixes and masters, the new plugin lets users experience “unmatched tape emulation” with both classic and modern modes.

Austrian Audio unveils OC-S10 reference recording mic 

Austrian Audio has launched the OC-S10 Reference Recording Microphone, a creative tool for artists and engineers with a crisp, modern voice and intuitive feature set, at NAMM 2025. Its versatility makes it equally ideal as a vocal and instrument mic.

The heart of OC-S10 is Austrian Audio’s specially selected CKR12 capsule, which is a free floating design that utilises an Open Acoustics Technology approach to capture sound with minimal obstructions. 

The OC-S10 utilises a brand new electronic design for a low noise floor, which captures all of the nuances of the capsule in a modern production environment. Multiple cardioid pattern settings allow for different variations of this voice, including the capability of multiple outputs accessed via dual, full-sized XLR outputs at the bottom of the microphone.

Fourier Audio launches transform.suite ‘25 

Last year, Fourier Audio’s transform.engine began shipping to sound reinforcement companies and touring engineers, designed to run VST3-native software plugins in a live environment.

At NAMM 2025, transform.engine becomes more full-featured, not only with the recent launch of v1.2 software offering Cuelists, but with the news that it will now also offer a companion software bundle, known as the transform.suite ’25, which brings together more than 70 plugins from the world’s top studio processing developers.

Native Instruments announces the Cremona Quartet Ensemble

At NAMM 2025, Native Instruments announced the release of the Cremona Quartet Ensemble, a new VST string ensemble aimed at enhancing the string arrangement experience within the DAW scenario.

This ensemble is based on four historic string instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries, including quartets and ensembles from renowned string players and purveyors Stradivari, Guarneri, and Amati, all preserved by the Museo del Violino in Cremona, Italy.
