Netflix’s Diddy documentary dominates in December

Netflix’s new music documentary, Sean Combs, The Reckoning, swept the top spot on the platform’s streaming chart at the start of December.

Still sitting highly at number 2, the four-part docuseries investigates Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ personal life and controversies. Premiering on December 2nd, it immediately claimed the highest chart position, overtaking Stranger Things 5 and accumulating over 20 million views in its release week.

The series provides an in-depth look at the disgraced musician’s career and controversies, beginning with his rise in the ‘90s and the allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct that were brought against him in 2023. The series also chronicles the events that led to his arrest in 2024.

“This documentary series unpacks the shocking allegations behind Sean "Diddy" Combs and his Bad Boy empire, spanning decades of his life and career,” explains Netflix on its platform.

Blending archival material and interviews with people connected to Combs personally and professionally, participants in the docuseries include; Kalenna Harper, Aubrey O’Day, Erick Sermon, Al B. Sure!, Mark Curry, and several jurors from Combs’s recent trial.

The series currently holds a 90% Tomatometer score based on 10 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. It also currently has an 87% audience rating.
