Shakira performs free concert for over 2 million at Todo Mundo No Rio

Multiple GRAMMY award-winning artist Shakira performed to over two million fans at Todo Mundo No Rio 2026 in Rio de Janeiro.

Todo Mundo No Rio is a free event in Rio de Janeiro that celebrates music, culture and community. Taking place on Copacabana Beach, Shakira’s performance was free of all attendees and generated large financial gains for the local economy, with a projected 800 million in economic benefits, including a 123% increase in travel bookings.

Throughout the concert, Shakira addressed the crowd in Portuguese, and played a career-spanning set including hits such as Hips Don’t Lie, La Tortura and La Bicicleta. Her show paid homage to Brazil, where she first began her international touring career, as she brought out special guests, for the debut performance of their new single Choka Choka, O Leãozinho with Caetano Veloso, O Que É, O Que É with Maria Bethânia Veloso and Unidos da Tijuca, Waka Waka with dance group Mare Dance, Objection with Unidos da Tijuca and País Tropical with Ivete Sangalo.

Shakira wore four Etro looks throughout the show, opening with a silk fly suit featuring a paisley print, embellished with Swarovski crystals in the colours of the Brazilian flag. She also wore an outfit adorned with over 150,000 Swarovski crystals in various shades of blue, and donned looks designed by local Brazilian designers, including Victor Hugo Mattos, HISHA and Dario Mittman.

This performance follows Shakira’s announcement of a limited run of US dates on her record-breaking Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Prior to this, she announced an 11-night stadium residency based in Madrid, which has already sold over 500,000 tickets, with a ‘Shakira Stadium’ 50,000-capacity pop-up venue being built especially for her.
These announcements were preceded by Shakira’s record-breaking close to the Mexico leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, where she drew around 400,000 fans to a free concert in Mexico City’s Zócalo on March 1st. She had also recently completed a 13-show run at Estadio GNP Seguros, becoming the artist with the most performances at the venue on a single tour, and selling over 800,000 tickets across the 13 days.
