Shure Axient Digital trusted for Latin Grammy Awards

This year’s Latin GRAMMY Awards, held at Miami’s Kaseya Center on November 15, saw artists, musicians, and producers come together to celebrate the most successful hits of the year, with Shure’s Axient® Digital Wireless System selected to deliver optimal audio throughout the night.

Axient Digital was chosed to deliver solid RF and consistent signal quality throughout the event. Engineers and artists relied on 24 channels of Shure PSM® 1000 In Ear Monitoring System and 12 channels of the Axient Digital Wireless System. The production also included 18 ADX2 handheld wireless microphone transmitters, four AD2 handheld microphone transmitters and two ADX1 bodypack transmitters.

The show started with the Person of the Year Carlos Vives. Next, Ela Taubert, winner of Mejor Artista Revelación surprised all the attendees singing her popular hit ¿Cómo pasó? with Joe Jonas, both using the iconic Shure SM58® capsule and ADX2 handheld transmitters.

The evening continued with New Urban Sounds, Grupo Frontera, an in Memoriam segment, Darumas and the international stars Marc Anthony and Bon Jovi; each performer relied on Shure BETA®58 handheld wireless microphones.

Luis Fonsi, awarded with Mejor Álbum Pop Vocal for his album El Viaje, sang a mix of his most famous songs using a Shure KSM9 microphone capsule.

Axient Digital PSM also amplified the Latin Grammy’s Person of the Year Celebration

The evening before the Latin GRAMMY Awards, the Latin Recording Academy celebrated the Person of the Year 2024 award, recognizing Carlos Vives for his contributions to the music industry. During the ceremony, several artists covered some of his most popular songs paying tribute to his stellar career.

Sixteen channels of Shure’s new digital in-ear wireless monitor system were deployed, providing audio for engineers and artists alike. Liz Cabral, RF Coordinator, relied on Axient Digital PSM’s Spatial Diversity capability which employs two transmit antennas to send the audio signal on the same frequency, supporting separate zones and eliminating potential interference.

"I was truly amazed by how Shure's Spatial Diversity Technology completely eliminated multipath interference, redefining my experience with its unmatched, rock-solid RF stability,” added Liz Cabral, Latin Grammy Person of the Year/Premier RF Coordinator.

"The new Axient Digital PSM is an absolute game changer. RF was flawless. The depth and width of the stereo image was very impressive. I never want to mix on anything else," said Dustin DeLuna, Latin Grammy Person of the Year/Premier Monitor Mixer.

“I’m very pleased with my first experience using 16 channels of Axient Digital PSM. It offers superior sound to any wireless monitoring system on the market. Solid in construction and super stable in RF. The fact that you can have 4 channels of transmission makes it even more attractive for touring. Axient Digital PSM it’s definitely the future,” said Jorge Frontera, Monitor Engineer for Carlos Vives.

Shure associates Javier Ocampo, Senior Manager, Market Development, and Jenn Liang-Chaboud, Manager, Artist & Entertainment Relations were present on the ground during the Person of the Year event and Latin Grammys 2024 show to support the technical teams.
