Solid State Logic Introduces Meter Pro Plugin and SSL 360° Software Update

Solid State Logic (SSL) has announced the release of its new Meter Pro plug-in and the latest SSL 360° software update (v1.9). Both additions expand the capabilities of SSL's ecosystem for audio professionals.

The Meter Pro plug-in offers a comprehensive suite of real-time audio analysis tools. These include loudness metering, a Real-Time Analyser (RTA), True Peak and RMS level monitoring, phase coherence analysis, and stereo balance evaluation. It supports multichannel configurations up to 7.1.4, making it suitable for stereo, 5.1 film audio, and immersive formats like Dolby Atmos. When integrated with the SSL UF1 DAW controller, Meter Pro can be controlled directly via hardware, with its display visible on the UF1's 4.3” IPS screen.

The SSL 360° v1.9 update provides new functionalities for users of SSL's UF1, UF8, and UC1 controllers.

Key Features of SSL's New Meter Pro Plug-in

Solid State Logic's new Meter Pro plug-in offers a range of real-time audio analysis tools. Its key features include:

  • Loudness Metering: Supports industry-standard integrated loudness levels with a variety of presets, including ITU, EBU, ATSC, ARIB, AGCOM, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, TASA, and SAWA. Visualisations include momentary bar, short-term history, and histogram, alongside text readouts for integrated loudness, true peak max, loudness range, PLR, and PSR.
  • Multi-channel Audio Support: Provides support for multichannel configurations up to 7.1.4, encompassing mono, stereo, 3.0, Quad, 5.0, 5.1, 7.0, 7.1, 7.0.2, 7.1.2, and 7.1.4.
  • Real-Time Analyser (RTA): Features a scalable, 31-band RTA for spectrum analysis, aiding in the identification of energy build-ups, imbalances, and resonances.
  • True Peak and RMS Monitoring: Includes True Peak and RMS meters with maximum and current text readouts. Users can select from various scales/systems, including Non-Linear, Linear, K-20, K-14, and K-12.
  • Lissajous Phase Scope & Phase Correlation Meter: Visualises stereo phase relationships to help detect phase cancellation issues and maintain stereo imaging.
  • Analogue Metering: Offers classic VU (Volume Unit) and PPM (Peak Program Meter) displays for gauging average loudness, musical dynamics, and traditional broadcast metering.
